Meyers, well known in Meyersdale and outlying territory, died at his home in Meyersdale, R.D. 3, at 4:50 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, 1942, at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 3 days. Mr. Meyers in his early life was employed as a driver in old Shaw Mines. For the past 18 years he has been the popular and efficient operator of a store and gas station located on Route 219, 1 1/2 miles south of Meyersdale. The deceased was born on October 28, 1885, a son of Martin Meyers, of Pennsylvania and Catherine (Cole) Meyers, of Maryland. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret (Deitle) Meyers, and two daughters, Anna Mae Meyers, a registered nurse employed in Pittsburgh, and Evelyn Meyers, at home; one son, Ralph, Meyersdale; one brother, Milton Meyers, Garrett, R.D.; and one sister, Mrs. Otto Weimnann of Pittsburgh. Services were held in Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church of which Mr. Meyers was a devoted member, on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. The service was conducted by Rev. Nelson C. Brown assisted by Dr. B. A. Black. Interment was made in Union Cemetery under the direction of W. C. Price & Son, local morticians. Floral tributes were beautiful and numerous.
