Born May 21, 1920, in Bakersville, Jefferson Township, a son of Harry Earl and Alma V. (Baker) Meyers. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Margaret Lenora Spangler, who died Dec. 27, 1996; daughter, Nancy A. Fairbanks and granddaughter Amy Fairbanks; sister, Kathryn Shoemaker. Survived by children: Mrs. Lee A. (Kathy) Hauger of Somerset, Mark J. Meyers, married to the former Stacy Pyle of Somerset, Mrs. Robert P. (Kim) McNeel of Somerset and son-in-law, Carl G. Fairbanks of Blairsville; grandchildren: Eric Fairbanks and wife Patty of Monroe, Mich., Debra Hauger of Jefferson Hills, Brittany and Rebecca McNeel of Somerset, Kelsey and Matthew Meyers of Somerset. Member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church. A 1938 graduate of Somerset High School. Park superintendent for DCNR at Kooser State Park, retiring in 1983 with 21 years service. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Elisa A. Osman officiating.
