He was born in Northampton Township, in 1877, a son of Jackson and Ellen (Purbaugh) Meyers, both deceased. He spent the earlier years of his life in that vicinity, going to Pittsburgh about thirty years ago, when he entered the building and contracting business, which he followed until about a year ago, when ill health compelled him to retire. He was serving in the capacity of president of the Hart Planing Mill Company at the time of his retirement. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary (Deal) Meyers, and two daughters, Ethel and Virginia, both at home; also one brother, H. T. Meyers, of Glencoe, and five sisters, Mrs. Virginia Rodeniser of Glencoe; Mrs. C. A. Purbaugh of Connellsville; Mrs. Emma Gray of Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. Frank Kidwell of New York City and Mrs. Harry Love, of Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted in the Mt. Lebanon Evangelical and Reformed Church near Glencoe at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 14, by the pastor, Rev. J. E. Gindlesperger. Interment will be made in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
