Mr. Meyers was born in Germany, coming to this country at an early age. He resided for a number of years on a small farm in Summit Township and was employed at the coke ovens of the Shaw Mines when they were active. Surviving are one brother, Henry Meyers, of Meyersdale, and the following children: George and Milton Meyers, both of Summit Township, and Mrs. Weimann of Pittsburgh. Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning in Amity Reformed Church, Meyersdale, conducted by Rev. B. A. Black. Burial in the Reformed Cemetery. Mr. Meyers was a man of sterling character, a sturdy, honest, industrious and dependable citizen and faithful member of the Reformed Church. The high esteem in which he was held by his neighbors was attested by the large number of sorrowing friends who attended his funeral. Meyersdale Republican, February 27, 1930
