Meyers, 95, formerly of RD 2 Shippensburg, died Saturday evening at the Brethren Village, Neffsville, Lancaster County. Born June 9, 1887, in Milford Township, Somerset County, son of the late Joseph W. and Elizabeth (Miller) Meyers. He was a farmer in Penn Township, Cumberland County, for many years and was a lay minister in the Pennsylvania districts of the Church of the Brethren. He was ordained into the ministry in 1911 and had received special recognition in 1980 for completing 69 years of continuous ministry. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Harrisburg Church of the Brethren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Walker) Meyers, who died in 1953; his second wife, Edna (Madeira) Meyers, who died in 1959. Survivors include: His third wife, Anna (Miller) Meyers, Brethren Village, Lancaster County; two sons: A. Roy Meyers, Gettysburg; and Ellis R. Meyers, Camp Hill; two daughters: Mrs. Alex (Eleanor) Doss, Gettysburg; and Mrs. Mary Lou Burkholder, Gettysburg; two stepsons, John Madeira, Hershey; the Rev. Ronald Madeira, Harleysville, Pa.; three stepdaughters: Mrs. Laura Reinhold, Hummelstown; Mrs. Ann Wright, Stanton, Va., and Mrs. Marian Miller, Mt. Holly Springs, Pa.; eight grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Wayne J. Eberly and the Rev. William E. Walters officiating. Interment, Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Relatives and friends will be received one hour prior to service at Fogelsanger Funeral Home, 223 West King St., Shippensburg.
