Meyers, 77, of Rockwood, passed on Feb. 28, 2003, at Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown. Born Oct. 17, 1925 in Somerset, the son of the late James and Effie (Carlson) Meyers. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marian "Louise" Brant and brother, Robert Meyers. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Edna (Durst) Meyers; children, Laurel Sicheri and FiancC Scott Wright of Rockwood, Linda, married to David Smith of Fallen Timber, Lisa, married to David Walker of Somerset and Michael, married to JoLynn Meyers of Vale, N.C.; grandchildren, Jennie (Vought) Wu, Becky Heiple, Nichole and Adam Smith, Heather (Knopsnyder) McKenzie, Branden and Jared Knopsnyder, Elizabeth and Rebecca Walker and Joshua Meyers; great-grandchildren: Drake Wu, Genesis Knopsnyder, and Jalisha McKenzie; and eight nieces and nephews. Brother of Mildred "Maxine" Meyers of Somerset and Janice Guyton of Brookline and a nephew of Margaret Hottle of Somerset. Also survived by his dog "Peedey". He was a retired coal miner who was employed by Florence Mining in New Florence and a member of Union Local 1257 of the United Mine Workers. Member of the Casselman Valley Sportsmen's Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II and a member of the Rockwood American Legion Post 279 and V.F.W. Post 556 in Somerset. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev.
