PETER F. MICHAEL

  Peter Franklin Michael, 85, died July 14th, at his home near Barton, Md.  He 
was the son of the late Jackson and Mary (Shaw) Michael, and a native of Firm 
Rock, Garrett County, Md.  He was a member of the Methodist church and was a 
school teacher during his younger days and later worked at farming.  He was the 
husband of the late Elizabeth (Broadwater) Michael.
  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James B. Hummel, Meyersdale, and Mrs. James 
Green, of Avilton; five sons, Harry Michael, of Cumberland; Clinton, of 
Arlington, Va.; Delbert, of McCoole, Edwin, at home; two brothers, Rev. I. G. 
Michael, retired Methodist minister of Westernport, and Frederick Michael, of 
Baltimore.  Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Sidney Evans, Thornton, W.Va., 13 
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
  Pfc. Austin Broadwater, son of Mrs. James B. Hummel, is a grandson of the 
deceased octogenarian.  Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 
o'clock, Rev. L. J. Moore, pastor of Barton Methodist Church, officiating.  
Interment in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
