Born Sept. 20, 1917, in Tempera, L'Aquila, Italy. Son of Alfonso and Concetta (Ghizonni) Miconi. Preceded in death by parents and an infant daughter; brothers Priamo and Giuseppe Miconi and sister Carolina Ciuffini. Survived by wife, the former Lucy Masciocchi, daughter Agatha, married to Dean Glasser, Boswell RD, brothers Vincenzo, Virgilio, Andrea and Alfonso and sister, Maria Miconi, all of Italy; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friend Robert Snyder of Jerome and loyal pets Bear and Smokey. He was a sergeant major in the Italian Army during World War II. Well known throughout the Tri-county area for his exceptional work as a stone mason. He is a member of All Saints Catholic Parish, the Jerome Nest No. 556, Polish Falcons of America, and the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union Local No. 9, a lifetime member of Ferndale Sportsmen. He loved being in the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Observed his 55th wedding anniversary Feb 7, 2003. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Wednesday at All Saints Church, Boswell with the Rev. Father Justin A. Ratajczak, OFM Conv. celebrant, Committal Holy Cross Cemetery near Jerome.
