Middleswarth, 93, of York died Aug. 13, 1997, at York Lutheran Home in the Village at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Rev. Harner R. Middleswarth. Born Nov. 26, 1903, in Somerset. Daughter of the late Oran W. and Grace (Frank) Beachley. Graduate of the Susquehanna Academy and Susquehanna University. She was a retired school teacher, having taught for 24 years in the public schools of Altoona and Manasquan, N.J., as well as in the Lansdowne Friends School and Lankanau School for Girls in Philadelphia. Member of Advent Lutheran Church, York. Survived by a daughter, Ruth C.M. Pikop of Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County; a brother, Kenneth G. Beachley of Wormleysburg, and a sister, Dorothy B. Burkhart of Chambersburg, Franklin County. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday at Baumeister, Orcutt and Small Mortuaries, Inc., South Queen at Jackson Street, York. Officiating will be Rev. Thomas E. McKee, chaplain of York Lutheran Home, assisted by her Visitation Pastor, Rev. Richard L. Ehrhart. Viewing from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, Delaware County. Memorial contributions may be made to York Lutheran Home, 1801 Folkemer Circle, York, Pa. 17404.
