Born March 17, 1921, in Jenner Township. Son of the late Charles and Mary (Makovich) Mikolich. Preceded in death by brothers, Frank and Charles, and sisters, Frances Huggens and Agnes Wholpart. Survived by his wife, Anna Lyzbicki Mikolich, and these children: Joseph Jr. and Karl, Boswell; Mary Piper, Jennerstown; Barbara Rosner, Washington, Pa.; Wanda Yokopenic, Zion, Ill.; Patricia Lottig, Friedens RD 1, and Sheila Ryan, El Paso, Texas. Also 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Brother of Josephine Bivona, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Anna Urbas, Nacomas, Fla.; Julia Sapienza, Boswell RD 2; Alice Zilch, Johnstown; Tony, Boswell RD 2; John, Cover Hill, and Martin of Corning, Calif. Veteran of World War II. Life member of Somerset VFW Post 554. Belonged to Somerset American Legion and FOE 1801, Somerset; Jenners Rod and Gun Club, Somerset County Oldtimers Baseball Association, and the Cooties. Formerly employed by Somerset State Hospital. Celebrated 50 years of marriage on Aug. 11, 1995. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Dr. Dale Lyzbicki. Interment, Jennerstown Lutheran Cemetery.
