ALLEN C. MILLER

  Allen C. Miller, a native of Brothersvalley and one of Berlin's leading 
citizens died in the Community Hospital, Somerset, Sunday morning, July 30th, 
after a short illness.
  He was the eldest son of Wm. J. and Samantha (Fritz) Miller and was born 
October 25, 1872.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nell Zorn Miller, and these 
children: Robert, William and Eleanor, wife of Samuel Engle, all of Berlin; two 
sisters, Mrs. Edith Burkhart, Hagerstown, Md., and Mrs. Belle Glessner, Berlin, 
and a brother, Roy Miller, also of Berlin; also three grandchildren.
  Mr. Miller was active in Trinity Lutheran Church, being an elder and lay 
president of the council, and served as librarian for a long period.  In civil 
affairs he was a justice of the peace and notary public.  He served as trustee 
and treasurer of the I.O.O.F. Cemetery Association.  He was a member of the 
Berlin I.O.O.F. Lodge and Lions Club, the Somerset Masonic Lodge and the Berlin 
Volunteer Fire Company.  
  Funeral services were conducted at the Johnson Funeral Home, Wednesday 
afternoon, at 3 o'clock, by Rev. Robert S. Nagle.  Interment in the I.O.O.F. 
Cemetery.
