  Alma (Shirk) Miller, 74, of Friedens, died Aug. 1, 2001 at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born Jan. 19, 1927 in Blair County.  Daughter of Jacob and
  Verle (Shriner) Shirk.  Preceded in death by parents, son Richard D.,
  daughter Jane E. Montgomery, son-in-law Jeffrey W. Montgomery and
  great-grandson Austin W. Montgomery.  Survived by her husband of 52
  years Robert C. and these sons Daniel C., married to former Sharyn
  Davis of Chatham, John W., married to former Linda Pate of Indiana,
  Pa., Joseph P. of Baltimore, Md., and Thomas B., married to former
  Lori Dunmyer of Friedens; grandchildren Kerri, Shelli, Katie,
  Camille, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Thomas, Cory, Jeremy, Kevin, and Betsy;
  and great-grandchildren Aaron and Ashleigh.  Sister of Jacob Shirk of
  Davidsville, Mary Moore of Friedens, Ina Miller of Stoystown, Mae
  Clark of Dumfries, Va., Blair Shirk of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Ruth
  Pumphrey and Jane Shirk both of Linthicum, Md.  Member of Horner
  Lutheran Church where she served as Lutheran Brotherhood Fraternal
  Communicator, Wheelers and Dealers Square Dancers Club and Forbes
  Area Senior Citizens.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7
  to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Viewing from 9
  a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Monday at Horner Lutheran Church, Rev.
  Kathleen A. Kuehl officiating.  Interment Somerset County Memorial
  Park.  Memorial Contributions may be given to Horner Lutheran Church
