    Carl K. Miller, 83, Jerome, formerly of Friedens, passed on May 17, 2007. Born July 19,
  1924, in Shade Township, he is the son of the late Orville and Ruth (Lehman) Miller. He is
  also preceded in death by his brothers, Guy, Gene and Glenn Miller. He is survived by his
  wife of 60 years, Marie (Untied) Miller; children, Patricia Smith, Huntersville, N.C.;
  Donald Miller, Mount Pleasant; and Joanne Pyle, Friedens; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-
  grandchildren, and sisters, Emma Catherine Brant, Friedens, and Zeta Thomas, Pittsburgh.
  He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a long-time farmer in the
  Friedens area, who also was employed by Dorfman and Hoffman Sewing Factory in Boswell and
  also the Critchfield Coal Co. He was a member of the Beulah United Methodist Church. He
  enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors. A memorial service will be held 4
  p.m. Sunday, May 27 at Beulah United Methodist Church. The Rev. Brenda Shaffer
