Miller, 86, of Somerset, formerly of Quemahoning Township, died Sept. 22, 1997, at home. Born Nov. 21, 1910, in Pittsburgh, son of Orange and Carrie (Beam) Miller. Preceded in death by parents; infant grandson and sisters, Eleanor Fulton, Lois Shaffer and Elaine Walker. Survived by by [sic] his wife of 60 years, the former Kathryn Rhoads, and these children: James, married to the former Bette Ann Trippler, New Centerville; Mary Jane Mostoller, Westfield, N.Y., and Ruth, married to Joseph Pickworth of Suffolk, Va.; grandchildren: Katherine Mostoller, Jeffery and John Miller, Gregory and David Mostoller, Matthew and Susan Pickworth; great-grandchildren: Joshuah and Samantha Miller, Megan and Erin Mostoller, and sister, Betty Jane Howe of Mohapac, N.Y. He was a retired Quemahoning Township farmer and North Star school bus driver. Lifetime member of Horner Lutheran Church, where he served in many capacities. He was a 44-year member and past president of the Stoystown Lions Club. Member of Somerset R.S.V.P. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was a cashier at Somerset Hospital snack bar. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where a Lions memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Horner Lutheran Church, Stoystown, Rev. Michael H. Tamorria officiating. Interment, Horner-Mount Tabor Cemetery.
