MILLER Dwight Lyman Miller, 51, general manager and senior partner of the Miller Machine Works, died at his home in Springs on Monday night, October 7. His death was caused by chronic nephritis, extending over a period of several years. He was born on December 14, 1894, a son of the late Gideon D. and Katy (Otto) Miller. On October 4, 1916, Mr. Miller was married to Anna Lohr. He is survived by his wife, a son, Lowell, a daughter, Lorraine, and a grandson. He is also survived by two brothers, Myron and Aaron, who were partners with him in the business which their father had founded over fifty years ago. As a boy, Mr. Miller spent much time in the machine shop at Springs, where his father was designing and developing a steam traction engine. Some years later when his father was superintendent of the 20th Century Manufacturing Company at Boynton, engaged in the manufacture of these traction engines, Mr. Miller was employed in the office of this company. In 1917 the father and the two oldest sons again returned to the Springs community where they formed the registered partnership of Miller Machine Works. Funeral services were held in the Springs Mennonite Church, of which the deceased was a member, on Thursday, October 10, at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Roy Kinsinger, and the pastor, Bishop Roy Otto, officiating. A male quartette sang a number of appropriate hymns. The pallbearers were Myron, Homer and Fay Livengood, Herman and Olen Bender and Bruce Folk. Burial in the church cemetery was in charge of undertaker Wm. Winterberg of Grantsville.
