MILLER Memorial Vesper Services for Esther D. Miller will be held in the Springs Mennonite Church, Sunday, July 15, at 4 p.m. The Republic, July 12, 1984 ESTHER D. MILLER A memorial vesper service for Miss Esther D. Miller, 62, of Bedford RD 3, was conducted Sunday in Springs Mennonite Church. Miss Miller was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle accident June 26 near Capon Bridge, W.Va. Her family lives in Indiana and Kansas, and services were conducted June 28 at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Middlebury, Ind. She had spent the past 25 years in Western Maryland and Pennsylvania, except for four years during which she earned an academic degree in home economics from Eastern Mennonite College, Harrisonburg, Va. For many years, she served in the crafts program, food service and pottery at Penn Alps restaurant, Grantsville, Md., and for the past three years, she had worked as potter at Old Bedford Village. In the early and mid 1960's, she served not only at Penn Alps but also at the Jennings Community Center, where she taught ceramics and sewing arts for the Highland Association. For several years, she taught summer Bible School in the mountain area, and she taught a Sunday School class at Dry Run Mennonite Church, of which she was a member. Her pottery art was known throughout this area and has been exhibited in numerous shows and festivals, including a special exhibit at the Dressler Art Center in Somerset in conjunction with art work of Paul Beal. She is survived by four sisters; all of Indiana, and two brothers, of Indiana and Kansas. The Republic, July 19, 1984 [M1571]
