H. Miller of Lincoln Avenue, died Sunday, March 6, at 8 p.m., after suffering just a week from pneumonia. He was aged a little past 21 years. Interment was made in the Grantsville Cemetery, Wednesday, under the direction of Undertaker J. L. Tressler. For exactly two years, Eugene Miller had been in the employ of Jonas Lenhart, hauling coal from Mr. Lenhart's Sand Springs mines. Many times each week, Eugene drove his truck past the Sand Spring school and often when the children were playing or going to or from school. It is worthy of note that due to his very careful driving and keen judgement, he never even came close to injuring any of them. He was a conscientious worker, sincere friend and a generally promising young citizen. Last Monday, Feb. 29, he went to work as usual and after hauling one load of coal to the city heating plant, he felt too ill to continue. He went home in mid-morning and took to his bed, from which he was never again to arise. A scant week later he passed to his reward. His parents, brothers and sisters who survive him, as well as all the many friends who knew him, will miss his cheerful presence in many walks of the life he knew and loved. Be it said of him, he was of noble character and well liked by all who knew him. Meyersdale Republican, March 10, 1932
