Born Dec. 23, 1880, in Somerset Township. Son of the late Peter and Harriet Bowman Miller. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Dora Bowser Rose, six brothers and four sisters. Survived by these sons: Ross A., RD 5 Somerset; Luther P. and Earl B., both of Somerset; Clyde R., New Brighton, Pa.; and two step-daughters Mrs. June Thomas, of Anaheim, California, and Miss Mildred Rose, of Fedhaven, Florida. Nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. He was a member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church where he had served as a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School superintendent and Councilman for many years. Also a member of the S.A.R. He had attended California State Normal School and was a former school teacher in Somerset Township. He served a number of years as cashier in the Sipesville bank and was a former bookkeeper for the H.W. Walker Co. and he retired from Agway Inc. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Saturday in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted in the Casebeer Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Clark officiating. Interment, Casebeer Cemetery. Body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until service time. Somerset American, April 26, 1975 [M1604]
