MILLER Garrett County, Maryland Funeral rites for Fred P. Miller were held Sunday afternoon, April 27, from the German Lutheran Church at Accident, of which he had long been a member. The Rev. C. F. Dauphin, pastor, officiated. Pallbearers were Henry Mollering, Fort Wayne, Ind., Dr. C. F. Snyder, Cumberland, Albert Snyder, Carl Miller and George Miller, Accident, Edward Miller, Washington, D.C., nephews of the deceased. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Fred Bowser, Adam Richter, Fred Richter, Alex Georg, John Hanftling and Frank Spoerline. The large crowd of relatives and friends and the many and beautiful floral tributes evidenced the esteem in which Mr. Miller was held in his community. Mr. Miller died at his home near Accident shortly before noon Wednesday, April 23. He had not been well for some time and failed to recover from a heart attack which he suffered Wednesday morning. Fred Miller had spent his entire life in this section, where he was known as one of the most successful farmers. He was born in the Accident community January 17, 1876 and was 65 years of age at the time of his demise. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Miller, both now deceased. He was never married and with his sister, Miss Rose Miller, resided on the home farm. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Sophia Von Schlichten, Yonkers, N.Y., Mrs. Margaret Mellering, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Miss Rose Miller, and one brother, William Miller, Accident. Among those who came to attend the services were Mrs. Margaret Mollering, Henry Mollering, Rev. Paul Miller and Mrs. Mary Miller, Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Sophia Von Schlichten and Rev. Henry Von Schlichten, Yonkers, N.Y., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Miller and family, Washington, D.C., Mrs. M. W. Harmon and sons, Universal, Pa., Fred Snyder, Miss Julia Wagman, and Clarence Wagman, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. John Schluntz, Frostburg. Meyersdale Republican, May 1, 1941
