Miller, 91, of 166 Rose Rd., Schellsburg died March 15, 2001 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born in Greenville Township, Somerset County on Oct. 23, 1909, he was the son of the late Harvey and Belinda (Baer) Miller. He was preceded in death by an infant son; a daughter Sylva Jean Summers, three brothers, George, Carl and Elbert; five sisters, Maggie Williams, Alma Dietle, Edith Schultz, Mildred Dietle, and Agnes Schrock and two infant siblings. He was the husband of Mabel M. (Drees) Miller whom he married March 1, 1936. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children: Betty Lou, wife of William Albright, Meyersdale; Thelma, wife of William Triplett, Schellsburg; Harold "Hap," husband of Donna (Amick) Miller, Fishertown; Lois, wife of Daniel Boyer, Schellsburg, and Paul, husband of Erma (Campbell) Miller, Brockway. Brother of Gladys Pope, Wellersburg, and Emma Meese, Salisbury. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Bedford. He was a member of the Schellsburg Lions Club and a charter member of the Shawnee Valley Volunteer Fire Co. He was the former owner of Miller's Shawnee Motel in Schellsburg and a past Greenville Township supervisor. Former poultry farmer, sawmiller and he was a coal miner for Union Mining Co. in Mt. Savage. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home. Visitation also from 10 until 11 a.m. Monday, the time of funeral service at Greenville Lutheran Church, with Rev. David Fetter and Rev. Raymond Short officiating. Interment Greenville Union Cemetery, Meyersdale. Daily American, March 17, 2001 [M1653]
