Born Feb. 24, 1922, in Champion, a daughter of the late Gabriel H. and Naomi (Sleasman) Miller. In addition to her parents, preceded in death by her brother Walter Paul Miller. Survived by a sister-in-law, Wanna Mae Neiderhiser and her husband Melvin, Champion; niece, Ann Ainsley and her husband Robert S., Normalville; nephew, Robert Miller and wife Carole, Pittsburgh; great-nieces, Marcia Ainsley of Normalville, Lisa Cook and her husband Jeff, of Murraysville, Kelly Welch and her husband, Bob, McMurray and Mandy Miller, Cannonsburg; great-nephews, Robert M. Ainsley and wife Tammy, Normalville, Paul Miller, Cannonsburg, Robbie and Harrison Miller, Pittsburgh; three great-great-nieces and three great-great-nephews and her special friends Kay and John Ewing and family, Greensburg, and Peggy Basinger, Normalville. Helen Ruth was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A life long resident of Champion. She was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the class of 1940. Prior to her retirement in 1993, Helen Ruth worked as a rural route mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 43 years. She was a longtime member of the County Line Church of the Brethren. She was also a member of the Eastern Star 383 in Scottdale, the Order of the Amaranth and the Royal Carriers Association. Helen Ruth loved and enjoyed cats. She raised many of them throughout the years and among them was her favorite Patsy. Family and friends were received Sunday, and will be received from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Route 711, Melcroft. Additional viewing will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., the hour of service Tuesday, in the County Line Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Thomas Bonomo officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Saltlick Township. Donations may made to Animal Angels, 419 Three Mile Hill, Mt.
