Miller, 80, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., formerly of Greensburg, died April 14, 1999, in Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Fla. Born Aug 23, 1918, in Carpentertown a son of the late John W. and Gertrude (Faith) Miller. Prior to his retirement, he was the director of the Westmoreland County Tax Office. Veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. Jack was a member of the Zion's Lutheran Church of Greensburg; Westmoreland Lodge 518, F.& A.M. of Greensburg; the Rotary Club of Greensburg; the Mount Pleasant Elks Club. Also a member of the American Legion. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Goldie Strohm Miller; two daughters: Trudy Jackson and Debby Talbot, both of Cooper City, Fla.; a grandson, David Talbot of Charlottesville, Va.; a brother, Paul Miller of Vienna, Ohio, and a sister, Helen Flowers of Tarrs. Friends will be received at the Barnhart Funeral Home, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Zion's Lutheran Church, S. Pennsylvania Ave. at Second St., Greensburg, with Harry Keiser officiating. Interment, Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Should friends desire, memorials may be placed with one's favorite charity. Members of Westmoreland Lodge 518, F.&A.M., and Philanthropy Lodge 225, F.&A.M. will meet at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday to hold Masonic services. Daily American, April 16, 1999 [M1696]
