All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ JACOB MEYERS MILLER Jacob Meyers Miller, son of Samuel A. and Sara Miller, born in Somerset County, Pa., Oct. 1, 1875, died at his home in Carleton, Nebr., October 3, 1940, aged 65 years and 3 days. Most of his life was spent in Carleton where he was a well known and highly respected citizen. In 1901 he was married to Ella May Whipkey and to this union two children were born, Ivan G. and Helen Lucille, who died in infancy. He is survived by his wife and son and eight grandchildren; also by his mother, Mrs. Sara Miller, of Carleton, and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Katie Saylor of Meyersdale, Howard Miller of Mankoto, Minn., Mahlon Miller of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. H. T. Bates, Mrs. Sadie Pecke and Sam Miller of Carleton. Jacob Miller was a faithful member and worker in the Brethren Church in Carleton and for the past few years served as custodian of the Carleton public school where he was greatly beloved by both teachers and pupils. He was laid to rest in the Carleton Cemetery following funeral services in the Brethren Church. Meyersdale Republican, October 24, 1940
