Miller, 84, of Bulloch County, Ga. died Feb. 13, 2002 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Ga. The Bulloch County native lived in Pennsylvania years before returning to Bulloch County. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Smucker Miller of Statesboro, a granddaughter, Michelle Mitchell of Mount Aire, Md.; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Iscrupe of Ligonier, and Doris Miller of Hilton Head, S.C. He was a retired conductor with the Pennsylvania railroad and was a commander sergeant major with the United States Army, having served in both Korea and World War II. Mr. Miller was a member of the First Baptist Church of Statesboro where he attended the Harmony Sunday School Class. Family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Hodges-Turner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro, Ga. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Statesboro with Dr. H. William Perry officiating. Burial will be in Buloch Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Harmony Sunday School Class and the Snooky's Coffee Club. Daily American, February 15, 2002 [M1698]
