Born Dec. 11, 1905, in Scalp Level, son of Joseph M. and Elizabeth (Veil) Miller. Survived by widow, Hulda M.; and these children: John V. Jr., Akron, Ohio; Harry H., Lexington, Ky.; Mrs. Kathryn Zeiders, Carlisle; and Mrs. Mary E. Byers, Wilmington, Del.; also seven grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Forrest Varner, Somerset. Graduate of Windber High School, University of Pittsburgh and Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. Retired member of staff of Holy Spirit Hospital. Practiced in Dillsburg 1938-54. Was major with U.S. Army Medical Corps in World War II. Member of Monaghan Presbyterian Church; Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and American medical associations; and Cumberland, York and Somerset historical societies. Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Monaghan Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Charles W. Best. Interment, Dillsburg Cemetery. Clipping: Not from a Somerset or Meyersdale newspaper. [M1733]
