Miller, 73, of Shanksville died April 8, 1973, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born March 16, 1900 in Stonycreek Township the son of Jerome and Ida Hill Miller. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, the former Bessie Will, and four sisters. He is survived by his widow, the former Charlotte Engelhardt Horne; children, Robert B. of Orlando, Fla.; and Edward L. Shanksville; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren: step-children, Daniel Horne of Middletown, N.J.; William Horne of Ravenna, Ohio; and Morna Horne of Johnstown; and eight step-grandchildren. He was a brother of Morgan of Stoystown RD 3 and Mrs. Darle Werner of Garrett. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, a member of Shanksville United Methodist Church, Silver and Gold Club and Volunteer Fire Company. Family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday and will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Charles R. Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Marlin Miller. Interment in Walker Cemetery, Shanksville. Daily American, April 9, 1973 [M1752]
