Miller of Zanesville, Ohio, in this community will regret to hear of his death which occurred Friday, January 14, at Bethesda Hospital, after several months' illness of complications. He was 76 years, 4 months and 14 days of age. Mr. Miller was born in 1868 at Cove, Md. He was the son of the late Philip and Sarah (Bittinger) Miller. In 1898 he was united in marriage to Matilda Menhorn of Accident, Md. He was a native of Garrett County, Md., and as a young man located in Salisbury, Pa., where he was a resident for 35 years. While in Salisbury he was a coal miner. In 1923 he moved to Zanesville, Ohio, where he was employed as a tile worker. He was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife and two children, Mrs. Earl Beachy of 1677 Linden Ave., Zanesville, with whom he made his home for the past year, and John Miller of Deitz Lane. Surviving also are four grandchildren - Mrs. George McDonald of the home; Robert Beachy of the Navy Air Corps, Delaware, Ohio; Eloise Beachy, a student nurse at Bethesda Hospital and Billy Miller of Deitz Lane - and two great-grandchildren, Eddie and Gary McDonald. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Fred Nolte of Coal Run, and two brothers, Frank and Melchor Miller of Salisbury, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Monday, January 17, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Walter A. Pahl officiating. The body was laid to rest in Memorial Park, Zanesville, Ohio. Meyersdale Republican, January 27, 1944
