Born June 11, 1915 in Acosta, the oldest daughter of the late Russell and Myrtle (Roberts) Zimmerman. She was also preceded in death by a brother, George Zimmerman and sister Edythe Sachs. Survived by her husband of 61 years, Clyde R. Miller; a son Thomas C. Miller, Griffith, IN and grandchildren Sara and Elliot; a daughter and son-in-law Ann and Leon Metzger, Pittsburgh and a grandson Mitchell, St. Louis, MO; sister Mrs. William (Alice) Ringer, Carlisle; and many nieces and nephews in Somerset County, California and Delaware. Member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Brighton. Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and taught elementary school for more than 30 years in Somerset, Westmoreland and Beaver counties. Her experience ranged from grades one through eight and an early career assignment was to take over her husband's position in a one room school when he enlisted in the army during World War II. Mrs. Miller was a member of numerous organizations: the Century Club of New Brighton, which she served as president; the Library Commission of Beaver County; Pennsylvania State Education Association; and the National Education Association. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 10th Ave., New Brighton, with her pastor, the Rev. Robert J. Hartman officiating. The Donald D. Druschel Funeral Home, New Brighton, is in charge of funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial donations to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Brighton or the New Brighton Library, 1021 Third Ave., New Brighton. Private interment.
