All rights reserved. http: //www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ----------------------------------------------- MILLER, Marjorie Ann (Dwire) 08/02/08 Daily American Marjorie Ann (Dwire) Miller, 69, a devoted wife, Loving mother, and endearing grandmother, died peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2008, in Somerset Hospital. Marjorie was born Dec. 3, 1938, in Rockwood, to Edward Lloyd Dwire and Eva Eileen DeHaven. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church in Somerset and served on church council, worship committee, senior choir, bell choir, counting team, alter guild, and as alternate organist. Marjorie was a 1956 graduate of Rockwood High School where she played French Horn in the marching band. Her love of music grew into a lifelong passion to study and play the organ. She felt honored for any opportunity to play for the congregations of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Marjorie worked in accounting for Rockwood Manufacturing for 37 years. She served as a corporate officer prior to her retirement in 1998. Marjorie married Floyd Ray Miller on Sept. 21, 1958. This year they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Marjorie was especially proud of her two sons, their wives, and four wonderful grandchildren. She would travel anywhere to spend time with her grandchildren and attend their activities. Marjorie also enjoyed the company of her many friends, whether she was participating with her golf or bowling teams, worshiping with the Monday morning bible study group, or dining with the Saturday morning breakfast club. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Martha Jane (Madeira) Dwire. She is survived by her husband, Floyd Ray Miller; sons, Keith Edward Miller, married to the former Sally Ellen Doyle, of Yorktown, Va. and Craig Alan Miller, married to the former Darla Jean Schumann, of Hampstead, Md.; grandchildren, Steven Edward Miller, Sarah Ellen Miller, Carson Lee Miller, and Eva Marie Miller; a brother, Barry Edward Dwire, of Derry; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pastor Linda McElroy officiating. Interment at Somerset County Memorial Park.
