She was born September 2, 1927 in Universal, Pa., a daughter of the late Clark Marshall and Gladys A. (Linhart) McKeag. Survived by her husband of 58 years, Dr. Wayne L. Miller; daughter Kathy, wife of Sam McClure, Meyersdale; and son Wayne Miller, and his wife Sandy, Carlisle. Grandchildren: James McClure, and his wife Staci, Huntingdon; Wayne Miller III, and his wife Andrea, Meyersdale; Elizabeth, wife of Ben Saylor, Carlisle; Mary Rebecca, wife of Erik Mauzy, Somerset; Travis Smith, and his wife Kelli, Meyersdale; Taryn, wife of Steve Moore, Meyersdale; and Todd Smith, Meyersdale. Also three great grandchildren. A sister of Dr. Joanne McKeag, Angola, Ind. A 1945 graduate of Penn Township High School in Pittsburgh, and a 1948 graduate of the Western Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She was a nurse at the Meyersdale Community Hospital for 27 years. Mary Lou was very active in her community. A member of the Zion Lutheran Church where she held many positions and sang in the choir. She was involved in the Pennsylvania Maple Festival where she served as chairman of the Queen's Committee, and she performed in the pageant. She was an honorary festival director at the time of her death. Mary Lou and her husband were honored as the 2003 Meyersdale Citizens of the Year. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Zion Lutheran Church Meyersdale, with the Rev. Frank E. Harpster III officiating. Memorial contributions in her memory should be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church. Arrangements by the William Rowe Price Funeral Home, Inc., Meyersdale.
