"Speedy" Miller, 68, of Somerset RD 7, died Dec. 26, 1988 in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Sept. 14, 1920 in Milford Township, son of the late Andrew and Amanda (Geedy) Miller. Also preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Miller and Mae Sipe; three brothers: Roy, Clarence E. and William E. Survived by his wife, the former Kathleen M. "Lyn" Thomas; and daughter, Mrs. Thomas G. (Joyce) Friedline, Somerset RD 2; and grandson, Bradly Robert Friedline. Brother of Calvin "Babe" Miller, Boswell Rd 2; Mrs. Mabel Shreffler-Burke, Somerset; and Mrs. Mildred Walker, Somerset RD 2. Former mechanic for S&A Chevrolet and Watkins Chevrolet. Operated his own garage since 1971. U.S. Army World War II veteran. Member of First Christian Church; V.F.W. Post #554; American Legion Post #181; the Jenners Rod and Gun Club; Quemahoning Rod and Gun Club; F.O.E. Aerie #1801; the L.O.O.M. Lodge #973; and the Somerset County Jeep Club. Friends received 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Rev. William J. Sleasman officiating.
