Born Feb. 19, 1916, in Quemahoning Township, a son of William T. and Ada Pearl (Miller) Miller. Preceded in death by parents; son, Cloyd Platt Miller; two granddaughters, Melissa Miller and Janice Wentz; one great-granddaughter, Amanda Jeffers; brothers, Vernon, Virgil, Kenneth, Steward, Clinton and R. Wayne Miller and three infant brothers; sisters, Betty Jane Hamilton and Bernice Mae Sterner. Survived by wife, the former Ruth Alvena Platt to whom he was married 66 years; children: Mrs. Ada M. Shockey, Friedens; Mrs. Dwayne (Grace E.) Wentz, Lititz; Galen W. Miller, Somerset; Glenn R. Miller, married to the former Joyce Yoder, Somerset; Harold S. Miller, married to the former Peggy A. Schrock, Friedens; and Joe L. Miller, Somerset; 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Alvin Lavan (Verda) Laughlin of Romulus, Mich.; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Izora Miller, Hancock, Md., and Mrs. Gloria Miller, Somerset. Member of Geiger Church of the Brethren. Green house manager for the former Somerset State Hospital retiring in 1978 with 30 years service. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where service will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Gerald E. Deffenbaugh officiating.
