Born March 19, 1904, in Somerset Township, Somerset County. Son of Franklin Pierce and Annie Mae (Baker) Miller. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Melda Mae Zimmerman, who died Aug. 14, 1970; stepmother, Dora (Bowser) Rose-Miller; brothers, Luther P. and Earl B. Miller, and great grandson, Eric Leister, in 1995. Survived by second wife, Florence (Miller) Witt Miller, Davidsville; children: Mrs. George W. (Freda) Roberts, Somerset RD; Glenn E. Miller, married to the former Beatrice Weimer, Somerset; Mrs. Ray M. (Thelma) Hauger, Friedens; step-children, Mrs. Lowell (Barbara) Shaffer, Davidsville; Mrs. Jean Hochard, Janet E. Witt and Edward R. Witt Jr., all of Somerset; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and 7 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren. Brother of Clyde R. Miller, New Brighton. Member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, Sipesville Lion Club, Somerset Grange 1697 and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Fifty-year member of Somerset Aerie 1801, F.O.E. Was a farmer, carpenter and a retired engineer for B.&.O. Railroad with 27 years service. Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, Rev. Dwight A. Huseman officiating. Interment, Casebeer Cemetery.
