Miller, 82, of 231 North Ave., Ravenna, Ohio, died January 31, 1979 at the Blossom Nursing Center in Alliance, Ohio following several months of failing health. Retiring 20 years ago as a fireman for the now defunct Byers Machine Co. in Ravenna, Mr. Miller was a member of the First Christian Church in Ravenna. Born in Salisbury, Dec. 4, 1896, he was a son of the late Joseph and Viola (Wilburn) Miller. Mr. Miller lived in the Portage County area for 55 years, and was a member of the Portage County Barracks 3270 World War I Veterans and a member and past post commander of VFW Post 1055. Mr. Miller is survived by sons, Dale, of Rootstown, Ohio; and Paul of Atwater, Ohio; daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Gladys) Langguth of Rootstown and Mrs. John (Janet) Fitzsimmons of Wayland, Ohio; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a brother, Hubert of Salisbury. Friends were received at the Wood Funeral Home in Ravenna. Interment at the Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown. The Republic, February 15, 1979 [M1951]
