Miller, 70, RD 2, Hancock, Md., formerly of Friedens RD 2, died Oct. 12, 1989, at his residence. Born Nov. 27, 1918 in Somerset County, son of the late William and Ada Pearl Miller. Also preceded in death by sister, Betty Jane Hamilton; brothers, Virgil and Clinton; also five infant brothers. Survived by wife, the former Izora McDowell; a daughter, Dara Loiselle, Clark Summit, PA; a son, Russell S., Hancock; also 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A brother of Mrs. Otis (Bernice) Sterner, Rockwood; Mrs. Lavan (Verda) Louchlin, Detroit, Mich.; and Raymond O. and Wayne R., both of Somerset. An army veteran of World War II. Member of Somerset Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, VFW Post 554 and the DAV. Retired IRS agent for the federal government. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Somerset Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Dr. Melvin E. Vance Sr., officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Body will lie in state in the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Daily American, October 13, 1989 [M1957]
