(Bud) Miller, 70, of Brush Run Road, Washington, Pa., died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 1987, in Washington Hospital. He was born February 28, 1916, in Summit Township, Somerset County, a son of the late John and Bertha (Griffith) Miller. He grew up near Meyersdale in Summit Township, where he attended the local schools. On February 5, 1940, he married Frieda Bowser Miller, who survives. In 1942, the couple moved to Marianna (Kirbytown Hill), where he was employed by Bethlehem Mines Corp.; worked at the Marianna mine for 36 years prior to his retirement in 1978. He had attended First Christian Church in Marianna; was a member of the men's bowling league at the Marianna Lyceum. Surviving in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Frances) Rasel, Lone Pine; Mrs. Jack (Donna) Flynn, Worthington, Mass., Mrs. D. Wayne (Marjorie) Smith, Marianna RD 1; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Earl N. Miller, two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Erma) Thomas, and Mrs. John (Edith) Mishler, all of Meyersdale; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sisters, Lulu Snowden and Myrtle Beall, and one brother who died in infancy. The Republic, March 5, 1987 [M1962]
