  MILLER
  
    Walter A. Miller, 80, Friedens RD 1, died March 16, 1997, in his
  home.  Born June 7, 1916, in Somerset Township, son of the late
  Harvey and Alice (Gonser) Miller.  Preceded in death by one sister. 
  Survived by his wife, Ruth Gashaw Miller, and these children: Donald,
  married to the former Dorothy Smith, Wichita, Kan.; Robert, married to
  the former Rheona Richard, Stoystown; Gary, married to the former
  Kathy Landis, Listie; Shirley, married to David Kraft, South Shore,
  Ky., and Dorothy Miller, at home; 10 grandchildren, six
  great-grandchildren.  Member of the Geiger Church of the Brethren. 
  Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in Italy.  Retired
  custodian for Somerset Area School District.  Death terminated
  marriage union of 56 years.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
  given to Somerset County Heart Association.  Friends were received
  Monday at Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset, where service
  will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (today), Rev. Gerald E. Deffenbaugh
  officiating.  Interment, Lichty Cemetery.
