"Tuck" Miller, 88, of Fourth Street, Jerome, died Dec. 23, 1997 at Memorial Medical Center Johnstown. Born May 28, 1909, in Fairhope, son of Henry E. and Cecelia (Poorbaugh) Miller. Preceded in death by parents, sisters Viola Coughenour and Bertha Ream, and a brother, Ralph. Survived by wife, the former E. Leona Custer; children: Janice, wife of Robert R. Yoder, Hollsopple RD, W. James, married to Jeanette Marino, Ligonier; Darla J., wife of Dr. Calvin Thomas, Salisbury, Md., and Vernon L., married to Eileen Marcinko, Jerome; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Brother of Harvey U., Fairhope, and E. Lee and Edna Woida, both of Berlin. Longtime faithful member of the Jerome Evangelical Lutheran Church. Also a member of the North Branch Hunting Club, UMWA, and the Jerome Sportsmen's Association. Retired miner with approximately 32 years service. Observed 61st wedding anniversary Jan. 16, 1997. Avid Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan, hunter and gardner. Lifelong Democrat. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny St., Boswell. (No visitation Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day.) Viewing also from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jerome Lutheran Church, the Rev. John K. Timm officiating.
