Miller died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Snyder, Thursday, June 10, after a long illness. He was born March 1, 1874, the son of Abraham and Mary (Schrock) Miller of Summit Mills. His age at death was 74 years, 3 months and 10 days. He was married to Ida Hostetler, July 9, 1893. Mrs. Miller and seven of their 14 children preceded him in death. He was a life-long member of the Church of the Brethren, and was a resident of Greenville Township for 30 years. For the past two and a half years, he made his home with the Snyders. He is survived by one son, Earl Miller of Meyersdale, and six daughters, Mrs. W. R. Snyder, Mrs. Robert Shockey, Mrs. Donald Barmoy and Mrs. M. W. Lindeman, all of Meyersdale; Mrs. James Shockey of Sheward, W.Va., and Mrs. S. B. Osgood of Grants Pass, Ore., and by 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Irvin Miller of Meyersdale, and Samuel Miller of Gray, and by three sisters, Mrs. Ella Weller and Mrs. Stella Meager, of Meyersdale, and Mrs. Clarence Keim of Lewistown. Funeral services were held in the Hostetler Church of the Brethren, Greenville Township, the Rev. J. E. Jones and the Rev. S. Loren Bowman officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus. Meyersdale Republican, June 24, 1948
