MILLER William Belmont Miller, 24, son of Mrs. Ethel Stanton Miller and the late Fay L. Miller, died in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital, Tuesday afternoon, May 11, from injuries he received in an automobile accident on Monday afternoon, May 10. Miller was a passenger in a Dodge convertible coupe which was driven by James Edwards, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Edwards, also of Grantsville, when the car collided with one driven by Lewis L. Anderson of Whitsett, Pa., on Route 51, three miles north of Perryopolis, Pa. Others in the car were Ernest Hartman of New Colonial Inn, and Lester Hunter of Avilton. The group had expected to attend a night baseball game in Pittsburgh. The three last mentioned escaped with minor injuries. Miller sustained a crushed chest and fractured skull. He was taken to the hospital in an unconscious condition and died the next day. It is alleged that Edwards, driver of the Dodge, failed to make a signal when making a turn to cross the road to a soft drink stand, and a collision resulted. The Edwards car was overturned. Miller attended the Grantsville High School and worked at the plant of the Celanese Corporation of America, near Cresaptown, for three years. The last two years he was associated with his brother, Fay L. Miller, in Fay's Tavern in Grantsville, until a month ago when he withdrew as a partner. He was a member of the Woodmen of World Camp No. 41, of Grantsville, the Grantsville baseball team and of the Evangelical Reformed Church, Grantsville. The unfortunate young man had a host of friends in the town and surrounding community because of his pleasant personality and kindliness. Besides his mother and brother, a sister, Mrs. Albert (Vera) Walker of Grantsville survives. Funeral services were held in St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Friday afternoon. Rev. George Ely, the pastor, spoke briefly from the scripture, Matthew 24-44. "That Beautiful Land" and "I Am Wondering Down Life's Shady Path" were sung by Harry J. Bender, Olen Miller, Denver Miller and Olen H. Yoder. The casket-bearers were members of the Grantsville baseball team - Luther Huff, Ivan Miller, William Layman, Raymond Miller, William Blocher and Logan Wengard. There were many beautiful floral pieces. Interment was made in the family lot in the Grantsville Cemetery. Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the services were William Miller and Miss Eleanor B. Miller of Meyersdale; Mr. and Mrs. William Brode, Mr. and Mrs. Earl K. Miller, Kenneth Miller, Edythe M. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dishong, Miss Joan Dunn and Mrs. Nell Zeller of Frostburg; Miss Ethel D. Miller of Springfield, W.Va.; Jay L.
