Miller, son of Henry and Caroline Miller, was born Dec. 16, 1860, in Indiana County, Pa., and died at his home in Garrett, Thursday, April 17, 1930, at 10 p.m. He was aged 69 years, 4 months and 1 day. Surviving are his widow, Ida Kimmel Miller, and three daughters - Mrs. Lee Phenicie, of Garrett; Mrs. Walter Rohm, of Hughesville, Pa., and Mrs. Earl Fiddler, of Garrett. He also leaves two grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. He united with the Church of the Brethren when he was 20 years of age. A few years later he was ordained deacon and served faithfully in that capacity until the end. He also served many years as church treasurer, and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a loyal and devoted member of the church and gave his life in unselfish service. Mr. Miller was president of the Garrett Water Company, and served several terms as postmaster of Garrett to the satisfaction of the Government and the patrons of the office. He also served as justice of the peace. By Mr. Miller's death Garrett has lost one of its most useful and popular citizens. Meyersdale Republican, May 1, 1930
