Following a brief service at the family home, services were held in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Accident, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Carl F. Dauphin. Honorary pall-bearers were Frank Spoerline, Henry Harmon, Alex Georg, Adam Richter, Henry Speicher and Fred Bowser. Active pall-bearers were Lewis Harmon, Walter Haenftling, Walter Richter, Elmer Kolb, Walter Fratz and Fred Kahl. Interment was in the church cemetery. William Winterberg, Grantsville undertaker was in charge of funeral arrangements. William Miller was a son of the late Melchor J. and Barbara Everline Miller. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Barbara Kahl Miller; four daughters, Mrs. Hildegarde M. Aiken, Accident; Mrs. Amelia H. Harman, Universal, Pa.; Mrs. Martha H. Aiken, Washington, D.C., and Miss Lena Miller, at home; three sons, Carl F. Miller, Accident; Sgt. W. George Miller, England, and Edward K. Miller, Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Miss Rose Miller, Accident; Mrs. Alexander Von Schlicten, Yonkers, N.Y.; Mrs. Margaret Moellering, Fort Wayne, Ind., and eleven grandchildren. Mr. Miller was a staunch Democrat and was known as "Silver Bill", and for his many political speeches. He attended all Democratic State conventions and served as a delegate to Democratic National Conventions in Chicago and San Francisco. He toured Europe in 1908. Mr. Miller was a member of the Accident board of school trustees for more than 30 years, and was secretary of Zion Lutheran Church, Accident, where he was a member for 33 years.
