He was not known to be ill when he retired. His death was attributed to coronary occlusion, and his age was 68 years, 2 months and 4 days. He was a son of Alexander Ross Milne. His mother's name is unknown to the surviving members of his family. Dr. Milne was a prominent dentist in Meyersdale for about 40 years. He was born and reared in Kingston Province of Ontario, and was a graduate of Queens College of Kingston, and a graduate of Temple Dental School, Philadelphia. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nelle Hazel (Kyser) Milne, and three sons, namely, Captain Jack Milne of the U.S. Air Corps; Ross and Rody Milne, at home. Dr. Milne suffered a heart attack about a year and a half ago, following which he was confined to his bed and home for a number of months. Eventually, however, he was able to return to his practice of dentistry, and recently seemed to be in fairly good health. He had been looking forward for some time to a visit from his son, Capt. Jack Milne, who, an Army Air Pilot, has been stationed on the British island of Trinidad, in the Carribbean Sea. Last Saturday afternoon Capt. Milne arrived at home, quite unexpectedly, on his long delayed furlough. His coming brought great joy to his parents and brothers. It was on Monday morning following his son's return home that Dr. Milne breathed his last. Funeral services were conducted today (Thursday) at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Nelson C. Brown, pastor of Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church. Interment was in the Meyersdale Union Cemetery, under the direction of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas of Salisbury.
