Born Oct. 16, 1934 in Hooversville. He lived in Wickliffe for 10 years. Former resident of Mentor. Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Mary Mincek, and one grandchild. Survived by sons: Ed (Lek) Mincek of Las Vegas, Nev.; Steve (Dawn) Mincek of Hixson, Tenn.; daughter, Vickie (Scott ) Coates of Chardon; Barb Banis of Eastlake; Kim (Jerry) Davies, Dover, Del.; Leanne (Tom) Daughterty of Connor Twp; and Carla (Seth) Klein of South Yarmouth, Mass.; 14 grandchildren. Brother of Frank (Mary Alice) Mincek of Wickliffe; Stanley (Janet) Mincek of Euclid; Marge Hunter of Pa., Francis (Jim) Busbaum of Columbiana, Ohio; Rose (Sal) Postich of S.C., and Barbara Rush of Pa. Employed by General Electric for 35 years. U.S. Navy veteran. Retired in 1988. Also had been a Wickliffe part time fireman. Member of Wickliffe Knights of Columbus; St. Vincent DePaul Society. Active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Wickliffe. Participated in the RCIA process as a sponsor and teacher. He served as a Eucharistic Minister and served funeral masses for many years. Ed was instrumental in initiating the Perpetual Adoration at the parish. He understood the importance of evangelization and was a member of the evangelization group at Mt. Carmel. Visitation from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Orlando-Donsante Funeral Home, 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. The funeral will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Entombment, All Souls Cemetery. Family suggests contributions to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, Ohio, 44092.
