  MINER
  
    Victor Clyde Miner, 92, of Grantsville, Md., died Feb. 2, 1997 at
  Meyersdale Manor Nursing Home, Meyersdale.  Born Dec. 16, 1904 near
  Kingwood, he was a son of the late John A. and Susan (Pletcher)
  Miner.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Delphia (Platter) Miner
  on Feb. 24, 1989.  Member of Bethesda Church of the Brethren,
  Grantsville, and was a retired farmer.  He is survived by 3 sons:
  Elmer, Elgin, Ill.; and Reed and John Miner, both of Grantsville; 2
  daughters: Melda Bittinger, Grantsville; and Anna Jean Heston,
  Hancock, Md.; a sister, Evanell Nicklow, Markleton; 16 grandchildren;
  31 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.  Friends will
  be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Newman Funeral
  Home, Grantsville, Md. where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m.
  Tuesday, with the Rev. Connell Chancy officiating.  Interment,
  Grantsville Cemetery.
