  CHARLES E. "CHIZ" MINTMIER
  
  Charles E. "Chiz" Mintmier, 68, Jerome Hill Road, Hollsopple, died
  Feb. 9, 2004, at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.  Born Sept. 10, 1935,
  in Johnstown, son of Charles and Mary (Lehman) Mintmier.  Preceded in
  death by father and son, Gregory C. Survived by mother, Johnstown,
  wife of 46 years, the former Doris J. Yoder; daughter, Cindy J.,
  Thomas Mills; grandchildren, David and Kelly Mintmier, brother
  Donald, married to former Sharon Corhn, Johnstown; and
  daughter-in-law, Joyce (Martin) Mintmier, Martinsburg.  A 1953
  graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School.  Retired union
  electrician with Church and Murdock Inc., Johnstown.  Member of IBEW,
  Local 5, Pittsburgh; Connumach Lions Club; and Benscreek Evangelical
  Lutheran Church, where he taught Sunday school and was very active
  with the children and youth and was also active with Camp Sequanota.
  Also member of the American Pottery Lover's Association and the
  Conemaugh Township Historical Society.  Volunteer for St. Francis
  Sharing and Caring.  He enjoyed attending auctions, collecting
  antiques and making balloon animals for children.  He was also an
  accomplished artist, poet and writer.  Friends received from 7 to 9
  p.m. Wednesday and 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman Funeral Home,
  Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville, where Lions necrology service
  will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.  Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time
  of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Benscreek Lutheran Church.  Larry C.
  Hoover, officiating.  Interment, Blough Mennonite Cemetery.  In lieu of
  flowers donations in Charles' name may be given to Benscreek Lutheran
  Church, 4459 Somerset Pike, Hollsopple, Pa. 15935, or American Heart
  Association, 400 Luray Ave., Johnstown, Pa. 15904, or American
  Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio 44720.
