Mishler, 88, of the Good Samaritan Nursing Care Center, died Jan. 29, 2000 at the center. Born Nov. 1, 1911 in Soap Hollow, he was the son of Edward and Lizzie (Stahl) Mishler. Preceded in death by parents, son Martin Eugene Mishler, sisters, Mrs. Carrie Thomas and Mrs. Anne Hershberger, and brothers Clyde and George Mishler. Survived by wife of 69 years, the former Cora M. Eash and these children: W. Duane Mishler, married to the former Esther Alwine, Hartville, Ohio, Lois, wife of Merle Shaffer, Hollsopple, D. Paul Mishler, married to the former Catherine Yoder, Rileyville, Va., Martha, wife of Edgar Miller, Harrisonburg, Va., and Mrs. Miriam Cochran of Johnstown; 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister-in-law, Suie Mishler. Slater was a retired carpenter and served numerous times with the Mennonite Disaster Service. Member of Blough Mennonite Church where he served for many years on the cemetery association. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the Blough Mennonite Church. Rev. Richard Mininger. Interment, church cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by the William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber.
