The fire originated from the explosion of a lamp in her room, which she had locked on the inside; and thought her son, Edward, who was awakened by the crackling of the flames, broke down the door, it was too late, Mrs. Mitchell's body being burned to a crisp. The house, with all furnishings, was burned to the ground and only hard work on the part of neighbors saved adjoining dwellings. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by nine children: Mrs. Thomas G. Fyfe of 201 East Willow Avenue, this city; William and Albert of Bakerton, Mrs. Thomas Snyder, Mrs. J Woods and Mrs. T Tangley (Thomas Langley) of Windber; Mrs. John Thomas of Scranton, and Edward & Daniel (Samuel) at home. Mr. & Mrs. Fyfe left yesterday afternoon for Windber to attend the Funeral. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/
