  Frank Darrell Mitchell, 89, Rockwood, died Jan. 7, 2005, at Conemaugh Memorial
  Medical Center, Johnstown. Born April 30, 1915, in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, a
  son of David Francis and Elizabeth Rebecca (King) Mitchell. Preceded in death by
  parents, six brothers and four sisters. Survived by wife, the former Mary Alta
  (Reeves), to whom he was married 66 years; children, Hilton D. Mitchell,
  married to the former Lorretta Lytle, Markleton, Mrs. Wilson (Wanda) Gary,
  Johnstown, Roger Mitchell, married to the former Martha Parker, Brandon, Fla.,
  Mrs. Iris Machesky, Pittsburgh; 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren;
  and sister-in-law, Mrs. Leah Mitchell, Somerset. A member of Messiah Lutheran
  Church. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked for 50 years as a
  self-employed carpenter and stone mason, retiring in 1985. Friends received
  from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where a
  service will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. William E. Osman
  officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be
  given to Messiah Lutheran Church, 134 Bridge Street, Rockwood, PA 15557.
