  MITCHELL
  
  John K. Mitchell, 74, Friedens RD 1, died Jan. 3, 1988 at Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born July 26, 1913 in Humbert, Somerset County,
  son of Noah R. and Mary (Hutzell) Mitchell.  Preceded in death by
  parents, step-mother, Lucinda Ohler and son, Rodger Lee, brothers,
  Noah, Charles, Scott, Clarence and Leroy Mitchell and Alex, William,
  Melvin and Harry Ohler and sister, Sarah Younkin.  Survived by wife,
  the former Bertha Hutzell and these children, Kaye, wife of James
  Countryman and Richard M., married to the former Ruth Ohler, both of
  Inman, S.C., John E., married to the former Louella Mills, Somerset
  RD 3 and Elaine, wife of Ray Smith, Jennerstown, nine grandchildren
  and four great-grandchildren.  Brother of Nina Ohler and Dorothy
  Mitchell, both of Somerset and Harvey Mitchell, Boswell RD 2. 
  Attended Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle.  Member of UMWA Local 1742
  Jenners, VFW Sportsmen and Jenner Community Sportsmen.  Retired miner
  with 41 years of service.  Observed 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 31,
  1987.  Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral
  Home, Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m.
  Wednesday.  Rev. Chauncey J. Ickes officiating.  Interment, Somerset
  County Memorial Park.
